Service Description

Basics of Horsemanship education using resources and information found in programs such as the Certified Horsemanship Association Level One. This is an example of what the lessons curriculum is. Instructor has the right to modify due to safety and readiness concerns. 1st Lesson – Unmounted – Barn and Arena Safety, Basic Horse Behaviors and care, Intro to Necessary Safety equipment and clothing needed and reasoning behind it. Equipment selection and care. 2nd Lesson – Tacking and Mounting – Proper preparation for riding. Getting On and off the horse. Emergency Dismounts, Whoa and Go. 3rd Lesson – Mounted – Tacking and Control at a Walk Any lessons beyond 3rd would build on all three of these lessons both unmounted and mounted and can be semi-private with other riders that have completed the first 3. Carolann Sharpe, Instructor is an experienced Horseback riding instructor including students with special needs. She is a Certified Special educator and Professional Associations Therapeutic Horseback riding instructor In Training. She is a Boy Scout of America Horsemanship Merit Badge counselor. Lessons will be accepted by referral only. Any Lessons that must be canceled by the rider within 24 hours will have a $25.00 cancellation fee that will be collected at the next meeting time.
